Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our phenomenal vendors need ample time to plan accordingly so we ask that you please RSVP as soon as you know if you’ll be attending (or not!). March 1st, 2025 is our deadline to RSVP, after which reservations to attend our wedding will not be accepted.

Please also note that, if you’d like to lodge at El Mangroove Hotel (where we’ve blocked off rooms) and specifically want to utilize the payment plan system where your reservation payments would be paid in 3 installments, the deadline to book for that was July 31st, 2024! You can still book a suite (pending hotel availability) after July 31st, but would be required to pay your full lodging costs upon departure. More details can be found on our Travel tab.

  • Everyone that has been invited to our wedding has directly received an invitation, therefore we respectfully ask that you do not bring any unexpected +1 with you to the wedding festivities.

  • Please see our Attire page for the dress code and inspiration.

  • All of our wedding activities will be adults-only. That said, children will not be allowed with the exception of immediate family members (and only if indicated explicitly on your wedding invitation).

  • Most of our events will be held outdoors, however, don’t worry! We’ll have stationary air-conditioning units to keep guests cool and comfortable.

  • Absolutely! We encourage you to capture (and share!) photos during the Anesgebam, Welcome Party, Cocktail Hour and Reception! However, we respectfully ask that you do not take any photos once our Wedding Ceremony commences (though photos before/after the Ceremony are perfectly OK!). Our dedicated and skilled photographers and videographers will be memorializing the Ceremony and we would prefer that you remain fully present! Plus, we’d prefer that our professional photos/videos do not have a bunch of phones in the background!

  • Absolutely! We want all of our guests to be able to enjoy each of our wedding events thoroughly and without limitations.

We will be collecting allergies information through the RSVP link so please indicate any of your dietary needs there.

  • Yes! Shuttles will be available to take you from the airport (upon your arrival to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica). They will be provided at cost by Guanacaste InfoCenter and will be all set to bring you to El Mangroove Hotel. Please sign up here if you’re interested.

Complementary shuttles will also be provided for hotel guests from the Mangroove Hotel to the Peninsula Grill for the Welcome Party on Thursday, May 1st, and more details will be given closer to the date!

  • While we hope that you won’t need any medical assistance, we know that it is better to be prepared in the event the need arises! The hotel has a brigade and prevention department, and if you need a doctor’s assistance, the hotel will call them (expenses are the responsibility of the guest).
The closest hospitals are in Liberia town: Enrique Baltodano Hospital and the San Rafael Arcangel Hospital (private)

  • May is the start of the humid season in Costa Rica (and temperatures can reach up to 99° F!) so please be conscientious when packing your clothing and setting expectations for the weather!

  • Our wedding will be held in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, which is in the northwest corner of the country. We suggest you travel to Liberia International Airport (LIR) — also known as Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport — which is based in the town of Liberia. From there, you’ll only have a 25-30 minute drive to get to El Mangroove Hotel.

  • The biggest piece of advice is to always make sure to only ride with registered Costa Rican taxi drivers. It is not unusual for several people to ask you at the airport if you need a taxi. Unfortunately, some of these people are not legal taxi drivers and may overcharge you.

You can always recognize official Costa Rican taxis because they are all red vehicles with a yellow triangle on the roof, driver’s side door, and front passenger side door. This yellow triangle contains their official taxi number.

  • - A passport valid for at least three months after arrival date to Costa Rica.

    - U.S. citizens do not need a Visa for Costa Rica,

    - A return ticket back home or to another country is required upon entry. The length of visa-free stay is up to 90 days.

  • No. Costa Rica accepts and uses the American dollar as currency. However, you may be given change in Costa Rican colónes so you may want to exchange or use them up before coming back to the US.

  • We suggest letting your bank know that you will be traveling abroad so you can use your credit and debit cards without being flagged while in Costa Rica.

  • Costa Rica observes Mountain Standard Time between mid-March to October (and will be 2 hours behind EST when our wedding takes place in May).

  • Outlets are the same as in the US, so no electric adaptors/converters are needed.
